I heard the song "Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men on a local radio station the other day and I instantly liked it. This Iceland indie/folk band is made up of 5 men and a female vocalist. In this song, Tagnar Porhallsson and Nanna Bryndis Hilmarsdotti connect with the listeners with such ear catching melodies. Apparently, Of Monsters and Men have been compared with Arcade Fire and Mumford and Sons. Here's a video of them performing "Little Talks." They have an EP out on iTunes called Into the Woods with four songs titled; Little Talks, Six Weeks, Love Love Love and From Finner.

Young The Giant
This is the first song in quite awhile I heard on the radio without a clue as to who it was, not even a guess, and had to frantically search the wfnx website for its playlist - though I was too late in checking, and the time it had played had already expired. I waited and waited until i heard it on the radio again (days later), then ran to the computer (at work!) and found it, though when I came back to the line the DJ announced it. So happy to have found it! Digging it!
On further exploration, I came across another single of theirs, "Cough Syrup", and recognised the video, somehow. When do I ever watch videos anymore? And yet, here it was, a video I had seen before. Doesn't hook me as much as "My Body", but still like it ok.
Perhaps I ought to check the whole album?

"Music Fathoms the Sky" ~Baudelaire
After after a baby last January we've been very busy. I finally got a chance to make a mix of Indie songs I've been really enjoying these days. I ran across this great site that allows you to make a mix of your very own called Mixpod. It's a great website...just what we all need to share this fabulous thing called music. Take a listen.

A new music discovery for Christmas!
Here we have a lovely little group by the name of The Little Stinkers, with "I Farted on Santa's Lap (Now Christmas is Gonna Stink For Me)". I really just stumbled upon it and loved it immediately, and think you will, too. It makes me think of the children's book "Everyone Poops", in the last stanza of the song, anyway.
I got it from the blog Musical Knowledge, and linked to the song directly (naughty!). In case the direct link fails.
So yeah - check it!

Finally!
The Cure have finally announced the remaster of Disintegration here, at long last. It also mentions a new Mixed Up and other stuff. I do hope there's a Wish remaster hot on Disintegration's heels, and that it includes the Lost Wishes instrumentals, which I rather like but only have sub-par copies of.
I have been waiting for this since the last batch of remasters, which were pretty reliably coming out in batches of three, and quickly. I thought that perhaps they'd stay on that schedule and be out with the whole catalogue in a matter of a year or two, but oh-no...
So, good.
